The Yarra Values
The Yarra CultureYarra strives to ensure our school is a safe, fun, friendly and supportive learning environment, such that the teachers, fellow students, and by extension, parents, become part of our close-knit learning community.
Good character developmentYarra understands that these early formative years are crucial in character development, so we focus on instilling, modeling and reinforcing good character traits and good behaviour. This includes exhibiting empathy, showing appreciation and gratitude, being eager to support others, being polite and being respectful.
Citizens of the worldAt Yarra we want to cultivate a positive, respectful and inclusive learning environment. This includes valuing and respecting each other, different cultures, animals and the environment. This reflects modern international values.
"Empathy is an important factor in academic and career success and an essential leadership skill"
